SUMMARY

The information society development problems, which are closely associated with information development of the regions, are discussed in this paper. One of the means for solving these problems is "Lithuanian Central Internet Gates" (LCIG) project, which is shortly presented here. The first steps of this project are to present cognitive information about Lithuania. Deployment of service system and analytical data presentation to end-user is the next step. The project of small-scale business enterprises portal is presented too.
